Software Tester

Show that software does what it is supposed to do and doesn't do what it is not supposed to do.

Cambridge, MA

Planning and executing manual testing of web-based software
Reporting the results to the developers and client management (through issue trackers, in meetings, and in written reports)
Possibly assisting clients with their own testing, in triaging bugs or guiding them in UAT, for example
Coordinating with testers in our U.S. office and with Xceptance colleagues in Germany on larger projects; managing smaller projects independently

Bachelor‘s degree or equivalent (Computer Science or related field not required)
2+ years of related professional experience in software testing
Knowledge of test methods, tools, and processes; familiarity with issue trackers
Knowledge of basic Web technologies such as HTTP/S, HTML, CSS and JavaScript a plus
Familiarity with test automation tools for web applications, such as XLT, Selenium, WebDriver or WATIR a plus

Positive attitude with a drive to learn and tackle new professional challenges and responsibilities
Creative thinker interested in identifying effective approaches to testing
Excellent analytical skills and innovative problem-solving abilities
Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced project culture
Ability to coordinate your work with other team members and work on multiple projects simultaneously
Attention to detail; ability to do thorough, accurate work
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Flexibility to work effectively as a member of cross-cultural, geographically distributed teams
