Software Tester

Cambridge, MA

Primary Responsibilities

  • Planning and executing manual testing of web-based software
  • Reporting the results to the developers and client management (through issue trackers, in meetings, and in written reports)
  • Possibly assisting clients with their own testing, in triaging bugs or guiding them in UAT, for example
  • Coordinating with testers in our U.S. office and with Xceptance colleagues in Germany on larger projects; managing smaller projects independently

Education, Experience, and Technical Skills

  • Bachelor‘s degree or equivalent (Computer Science or related field not required)
  • 2+ years of related professional experience in software testing
  • Knowledge of test methods, tools, and processes; familiarity with issue trackers
  • Knowledge of basic Web technologies such as HTTP/S, HTML, CSS and JavaScript a plus
  • Familiarity with test automation tools for web applications, such as XLT, Selenium, WebDriver or WATIR a plus
